GROW: Understanding the Child Disability Benefit

10 Mar, 2026

Join ABLE2 for an introductory webinar on the Child Disability Benefit (CDB) on March 10, 2026 (delivered in English) and March 11, 2026 (delivered in French) as part of our GROW Education Series. This session will provide an overview of what the Child Disability Benefit is, who it is for, what it does, and how to apply.

The Child Disability Benefit is a tax-free monthly payment designed to help families with the costs of caring for a child under the age of 18 who has a disability.

This presentation will be hosted by ABLE2 and delivered by a Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Outreach Worker, who will provide a general overview of the benefit and the application process.

Please note: This presentation is intended as a general information session only. Personal or case-specific questions will not be addressed.

Dates: March 10, 2026, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. EST (delivered in English) and March 11, 2026, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. EST (delivered in French) via Zoom

Registration closes on March 8, 2026, at 12 PM*

You’ll Learn:

  • What the Child Disability Benefit is
  • Who is eligible for the Child Disability Benefit
  • How to apply for the Child Disability Benefit
  • How the Child Disability Benefit can support families

Who Should Attend:

This presentation is for families who have children under the age of 18 with a disability and would like to learn more about the Child Disability Benefit.

While there are specific eligibility requirements for the Child Disability Benefit, this session is open to anyone who wishes to learn, and no background knowledge is required.

If space allows, professional supports may also be permitted to attend.

As this is an introductory presentation, participants are encouraged to attend the Disability Tax Credit presentation (March 3 – English or March 4 – French), as eligibility for the DTC is often required to access the Child Disability Benefit. Attendance at the DTC session is recommended but not required.

Presented by ABLE2’s Funding Brokerage Service and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) – Outreach Worker

The Canada Revenue Agency is committed to helping individuals understand the benefits, credits, and programs they may be eligible for. CRA Outreach Workers work directly with communities to provide education and information about CRA programs, including the Child Disability Benefit.

This GROW Education Series session is generously funded by Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC).
