On September 1, 2025, ABLE2: Support for People with Disabilities is transitioning to remote operations. This change will allow us to reduce overhead costs and reinvest those resources back into what truly matters the most – the programs and services that directly impact people with disabilities and their families.
We will be operating on a fully remote operational model and will no longer maintain a physical office at 312 Parkdale Avenue, Ottawa. Our new mailing address for donations or documents will be: 1554 Carling Ave., PO Box M015, Ottawa, ON K1Z 7M4
This is a strategic decision that reflects the evolution of how we work and how we can best serve. By moving to remote operations:
- We will be able to redirect more resources directly into our vital programs and services by significantly reducing our overhead costs.
- We can meet individuals and families where they are, whether virtually or in-person in the community thereby increasing our flexibility.
- We remove transportation, mobility, and scheduling barriers often faced by the people we support enabling us to enhance accessibility and equity.
We understand the need for face-to-face interaction and are always available to meet you. If you need to meet with a staff member in person, please reach out to them directly, email info@able2.org, or call 613-761-9522 to arrange a meeting at a fully accessible community space.
We want to reassure you: ABLE2 is not changing what we do—only where we do it. Our values, our commitment, and our community-first approach remain as strong as ever. We’re still the same dedicated team, delivering the same impactful programs, with the same heart.
Thank you for your continued support as we take this bold step to better serve and empower people with disabilities and their families.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is ABLE2 moving to a remote model?
We are transitioning to remote operations to reduce overhead costs and reinvest those resources back into what truly matters the most, the programs and services that directly impact people with disabilities and their families. Moving to remote operations will also allow us to increase accessibility and serve more people efficiently and sustainably. It’s also a reflection of how people prefer to engage with us—virtually or in their own communities, on their own terms.
Will ABLE2 still offer the same programs and services?
Absolutely. All programs and services will continue without interruption. In fact, this model allows us to enhance and expand our service delivery. We’ve successfully delivered hybrid support (in-person and virtual) for years and are well-prepared to serve even more people this way.

What happens to in-person events or meetings?
In-person events and meetings are still part of our work—they will just be more intentional and community-centered. When needed, we will coordinate meetings in accessible public venues or community spaces. If you’d like to schedule an in-person meeting, please contact us.
If you need to meet with any of our staff members in person, please reach out to them directly, email at info@able2.org, or call 613-761-9522 to book an appointment. We are happy to arrange in-person meetings as needed.
How will this affect staff and volunteers?
Our staff will work remotely with flexible arrangements that support their productivity, health, and work-life balance. Volunteers will continue to be engaged through both virtual and in-person opportunities, depending on program needs and event planning.
Is ABLE2 still based in Ottawa?
Yes. ABLE2 remains proudly rooted in Ottawa and deeply committed to serving the local disability community, even as we increase our virtual reach.
How can I stay updated on ABLE2’s activities?
Stay in the loop through our website, social media, and newsletter. Sign up for our newsletter here: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/HGNIQkH
Will this change affect funding or donations?
No. In fact, your donations now go even further. With lower operational costs, a larger portion of every dollar goes directly toward helping individuals and families in our programs. This move strengthens the impact of every contribution.
What if I have limited access to technology or need help using ABLE2’s virtual services?
We are committed to ensuring no one is left behind. If you need help accessing online services or prefer alternatives like phone calls or print materials, just reach out. We will work with you to find the best solution so you can stay connected and supported.
