GROW: Canada Disability Benefit 101: What You Need to Know

25 Mar, 2026

Join ABLE2 for an introductory webinar on the Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) on March 25, 2026 (delivered in French) and April 2, 2026 (delivered in English). This session will provide essential information about the Canada Disability Benefit — what it is, who it is for, and how to apply.

The Canada Disability Benefit is not the same as the Canada Disability Tax Credit. This presentation will help clarify the differences and outline what individuals need to know when considering an application.

The sessions will be hosted by ABLE2 and delivered by a Service Canada Community Outreach and Liaison Service Outreach Worker, who will provide a general overview of the benefit and the application process.

Please note: This presentation is intended as a general information session onlyPersonal or case-specific questions will not be addressed.

Dates: March 25, 2026, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. EST (delivered in French) and April 2, 2026, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. EST (delivered in English) via Zoom

Registration closes on March 23, 2026, at 12 PM*

You’ll learn:

  • What the Canada Disability Benefit is
  • Who the Canada Disability Benefit is for
  • What is required to apply
  • Key differences between the Canada Disability Benefit and the Canada Disability Tax Credit

Who Should Attend:

This presentation is open to anyone who has a disability (of any kind) and would like to learn more about the Canada Disability Benefit.

While there are specific eligibility requirements for the Canada Disability Benefit, no background knowledge is required to attend this session.

The presentation is also suitable for:

  • Caregivers and support people
  • Parents, spouses, siblings, and family members
  • Friends of people with disabilities

If space allows, professional supports may also be permitted to attend.

As this is an introductory session, participants may find it helpful to attend the Canada Disability Tax Credit presentation prior to this webinar (March 3 – English or March 4 – French), though this is not required.

Presented by ABLE2’s Funding Brokerage Service and Service Canada – Community Outreach and Liaison Service

The Community Outreach and Liaison Service works directly in the community to provide information about programs delivered by Service Canada and how to access them. These programs include the Canada Disability Benefit, Social Insurance Number (SIN) services, and other federal supports.

This GROW Education Series session is generously funded by Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC).
